Base points
Base points for runs, boundaries, sixes, milestones, wickets, catches, stumpings, and run-outs are standard across the leading apps. The 25-point wicket is the same on every leading app.
A run is worth 1 point. A wicket is worth 25. A catch is worth 8. Here's the full points reference and how the bonuses stack.

The complete reference. Plus the strike-rate and economy-rate bonuses that swing the leaderboard in close contests.

| Captain | 2x all points |
| Vice-captain | 1.5x all points |
Note: captain and vice-captain multipliers apply on top of all base points, including strike-rate, economy-rate, and milestone bonuses.
The 2x captain and 1.5x vice-captain multipliers compound on top of all base points and bonuses. Here is how that affects a typical lineup.
| Player | Base | As player | As vice-captain (1.5x) | As captain (2x) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Top-order batter (60 FP) | 60 | 60 | 90 | 120 |
| Wrist spinner (75 FP) | 75 | 75 | 112.5 | 150 |
| Pace allrounder (80 FP) | 80 | 80 | 120 | 160 |
| Wicketkeeper (50 FP) | 50 | 50 | 75 | 100 |
The captain and vice-captain slots together can add 60-90 fantasy points to a typical lineup. That is roughly 10-15% of the total points from two slots out of eleven.

The base points are largely consistent across the leading apps. The differences are usually in contest-specific multipliers and Impact Player rules.

Before entering a contest, spend 2 minutes reading the app's points-system page. The differences are usually small, but they add up over a season.
Players who use multiple apps should be aware of the differences. A pick that scores 80 FP on one app may score 78 on another, which can affect leaderboard position in smaller contests.

A worked example showing how the captain decision alone can move your rank by 30-50 positions in a 1,000-entry contest.
A typical top-order captain scores 70 FP at 2x = 140 leaderboard points. That places you around the 60th percentile of a 1,000-entry contest.
A differential captain who scores 90 FP at 2x = 180 leaderboard points. The 40-point swing moves you from the 60th percentile to roughly the 15th percentile.
In a 10,000-entry grand-prize contest, the same 40-point swing moves you from the top 25% to roughly the top 8%. Differential captaincy compounds in larger contests.
Boundary bonuses (+4 per four, +6 per six) reward aggressive batting, but they are bounded by the number of balls faced. Strike-rate bonuses apply to the whole innings regardless of balls faced.
A 12-ball 28-run knock (SR 233) returns +6 strike-rate bonus plus 28 + 16 (4 fours) + 6 (1 six) = 56 points. A 50-ball 90-run knock (SR 180) returns +4 strike-rate bonus plus 90 + 32 (8 fours) + 18 (3 sixes) = 144 points. The longer innings scores more points overall but the strike-rate bonus is a higher share of the shorter innings' total.
Power-hitters in the death overs benefit most from the strike-rate structure because their strike-rate ceiling is much higher than anchor batters, and the strike-rate bonus rewards that ceiling.
